Is The Electric Car Back? Tesla Thinks Soby

The electric car is something of a concept which has been around for decades – yet it’s never really caught fire in the mainstream. The oil industry is still colossal – and, as a result, the vast majority of vehicles worldwide still fuel up with gas and diesel despite raising concerns about the effects they are having on the environment, and raising prices along with this. Hybrid cars – which seek to offer a healthier alternative to the gas-guzzlers we see trundling about our motorways – have become reasonably popular, but it is only recently that big firms have decided to really push ahead with the idea of renewable energy, and it is thought that electric cars will be commonplace – if not the leading model – in years to come.

You only have to take it up with Tesla to find out more – and why this target is becoming more and more achievable. Elon Musk’s firm is said to be making major strides in terms of electric car production, to the extent where they have already rolled a number of models off the assembly line and that pre-orders have been coming in thick and fast. The first roll-out of electric Model 3 cars debuted recently, and it is thought that half a million people have already made deposits on the vehicles – indicating that there is now considerable interest in vehicles which are kinder to the world around us.

It’s thought that the vehicles will be produced in their thousands each week – and that one such model will retail at around $35,000 – which is a significant cut from other Tesla cars which often sell for double the price. In fact, Musk has advised that the success of other vehicles has allowed the firm to concentrate on these healthier models.

While the Tesla Model 3 may not be the most hi-tech of vehicles, it seems to be keen to lead the way when it comes to cleaner cars and renewable energy – particularly at a time when oil prices are skyrocketing and when grave warnings regarding carbon emissions have never been more severe. It seems that the 500,000 people depositing upon a Model 3 are keen to take some form of personal action – or, to at least save money when charging up their vehicles. Either way – the rise of the Model 3 can only be a good thing for the world around us.
