India to reject call for anti-subsidy tax on some Chinese steel products
Friday, 14 July 2023
India has decided not to impose a CVD (countervailing duty) on some steel products coming from China, despite an 18.95% CVD being recommended by the Director General of Trade Remedies. A finance ministry official said the decision was to ensure steel-consuming firms would not suffer from higher prices, despite the negative impact on local steel manufacturers.
