India wants Saudi Aramco to develop strategic petroleum reserve as ties strengthen
Wednesday, 11 October 2023 India is seeking Saudi Arabia's Aramco to participate in its strategic petroleum reserve (SPR) programme as part of efforts to strengthen ties with its key oil supplier. The talks gained momentum after a meeting between Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. India's SPR program has approved the construction of two new reserves. The Indian Government said in an internal document that, "Saudi Arabia's Aramco can be invited to participate in the Phase II."
