German exports to China hit by slow customs processing, tech firms warn

IndiaTimes Thursday, 26 October 2023
German technology groups are experiencing delays in getting exports to China through customs, following the German government's strategy of reducing economic dependence on China. Suess MicroTec, a chip-making kit supplier, has cut its sales forecasts for the second time in three months due to tightened controls on exports to China. Other companies, including Trumpf, have also reported increased inspections and processing delays. Some high-tech companies with Chinese customers have not been affected. The German chamber of commerce has stated that the political environment is hindering exports to China.
