Trade ministers ready deal to lower China dependence

IndiaTimes Monday, 13 November 2023
Trade ministers from 14 countries, including India, are expected to announce a deal on clean energy and infrastructure, as well as tax and anti-corruption measures, under the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) this week. The agreement aims to strengthen relations and reduce dependence on China in the post-Covid period. However, the trade pillar, which requires commitments in areas such as labor, environment, agriculture, and inclusivity, remains open and India is yet to decide whether to join as an active member.
