Doon School alum Umang Dua’s start-up secures USD 18 million in seed funding

Umang Dua, an Indian American entrepreneur, co-founded Keychain, the world's first comprehensive marketplace for the consumer packaged goods sector. The company raised USD 18 million in seed funding from investors including Lightspeed Venture Partners and Box Group. Dua's previous startup, Handy, was acquired by Angi Homeservices. Keychain aims to connect retailers with the right production and packaging partners in minutes, eliminating the need for brokers. The platform focuses on the food, beverages, and cosmetics sectors. Dua believes that Indian origin entrepreneurs are here to stay, despite challenges in the US. He acknowledges the opportunities in technology in India, which are leading some Indians to return and start ventures there.
