McDonald's eyes speedy ramp-up to 50,000 restaurants by 2027

McDonald's plans to expand its network of restaurants to 50,000 worldwide by 2027. As part of this expansion, the company will introduce CosMc's, a new network of small-format shops focused on cold beverages. The first CosMc's store will open in Chicago in 2024, followed by nine others in Texas. Inspired by nostalgia, CosMc's will offer specialty beverages like S'mores Cold Brew and Sour Tango Lemonade, along with sandwiches and baked goods. The expansion will require $2.5 billion in capital expenditures in 2024 and additional investments each year until 2027.
