North-East India and parts of the Hindi heartland are emerging as the new e-commerce hotspots, fueling the next wave of growth for the estimated over $80 billion industry, according to a recent study jointly conducted by consulting firm Kearney and Meesho. Helped by rising disposable incomes and consumer appetite for varied options and styles, cities like Varanasi, Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Noida, Jamshedpur and Ranchi are increasingly taking to online shopping.
