Samsung chief Lee Jae-yong is acquitted of financial crimes related to 2015 merger

Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong is acquitted by a South Korean court of financial crimes involving a 2015 merger between Samsung affiliates. The court states that the merger was legal. Lee, previously convicted of bribery charges related to the merger, was released on parole in 2021 and later pardoned.
