SpiceJet to cut 1,400 jobs to reduce costs

Low-cost carrier SpiceJet plans to lay off 1,400 employees - about 15% of its workforce - by March end as part of its turnaround plan. The airline confirmed the decision stating that the move will help it save up to Rs 100 crore annually. Currently, the cash-strapped airline has around 9,000 employees.
