Car sales growth flat on high base

IndiaTimes Wednesday, 1 May 2024 ()
Passenger vehicle sales started the new fiscal year on a stagnant note, with approximately 340,000 units sold in April. The sales were affected by the high base effect and subdued demand due to the ongoing general elections. The dispatches of passenger vehicles from manufacturers to dealers reached 3.4 lakh units in April, which was an increase from 3.3 lakh units in the year-ago period by almost 3%.
