Tuesday, 4 July 2023 The Central Board of Film Certification has granted A certification with 21 cuts to the upcoming film, Ghallughara, directed by Honey Trehan and starring Arjun Rampal and Diljit Dosanjh. The film is about Sikh human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra and the state of insurgency in Punjab in the 1990s. The CBFC deemed certain parts of the film provocative, communal, inciting violence, and potentially radicalising Sikh youth. RSVP Movies has filed an appeal challenging the cuts, citing violations of the Constitution of India. A hearing is scheduled on July 14 by Hon’ble Justice RI Chagla.
