The deal, which still needs approval from the WGA leadership and union members, is described as "exceptional" with "meaningful gains and protections for writers." However, the SAG-AFTRA actors' union remains on strike, and negotiations to get actors back to work are ongoing. The strikes have resulted from disputes over compensation, minimum staffing, artificial intelligence use, and residuals for streaming shows.
