Thursday, 23 November 2023 Actors Susan Sarandon and Melissa Barrera have been dropped by Hollywood companies following comments they made about the Israel-Hamas war that were deemed antisemitic. Barrera, who starred in "Scream VII," called the war "genocide and ethnic cleansing" in an Instagram post. Spyglass Media Group, the production company behind the film, acknowledged her exit. Sarandon, a five-time Oscar nominee, has also been dropped by her talent agency after making comments about Israel at a pro-Palestinian rally. The Israel-Hamas war has caused divisions within Hollywood, with some individuals and groups expressing support for Palestine.
