Rakesh Roshan to get 20 lakhs from fraudsters

IndiaTimes Friday, 2 February 2024
The Bombay High Court has ordered the return of Rs 20 lakhs to filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, who was duped by individuals posing as CBI officers in 2011. Ashwini Sharma and Rajesh Ranjan, the impersonators, were arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), revealing their deceit of other film stars. The ACB seized Rs 2.94 crores and substantial properties. Dissatisfied with the trial court's decision to withhold Rs 20 lakhs, Roshan approached the High Court, arguing the accused's no objection to him reclaiming Rs 20 lakhs raised questions about withholding the amount.
