Plans to build more homes in cities to be unveiled amid criticism from developers
Sunday, 23 July 2023 Developers have accused the government of not doing enough to tackle falling levels of house building, as Michael Gove prepares to unveil plans that he says will boost construction - without spoiling the countryside.
Sir Ed Davey has reacted to the news that Michael Gove has stood down as an MP ahead of the election, saying: "It's very interesting that a lot of senior Tories in seats that we think we can win are standing down. I think they've seen both the local election results where we're doing really well in those areas and they're seeing the fact that lots of former Conservatives are switching to the Liberal Democrats."
