Supreme Court nixes Allahabad high court judge’s order seeking help of astrology in rape case

The Supreme Court on Saturday nixed a bizarre attempt by a judge of the Allahabad HC to mix law with astrology in deciding the bail plea of a man, who facing rape charges, had reached a purported settlement with the rape survivor to marry her but wriggled out of it alleging that her birth chart suffered an astrological blemish — ‘mangal dosh’.
