NIA summons Islamic scholar in terror funding case
Wednesday, 7 June 2023 The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday summoned renowned Islamic scholar and Dar-ul-Uloom Rahimya in Bandipora, Moulana Rehmatullah Mir Qasmi, for questioning in connection with a terror funding case. “It appears that you are acquainted with the facts of this case. You are hereby directed to report at NIA camp office Church Lane, Sonwar, Srinagar, for the purpose of answering certain questions related to the case,” read the summon.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) apprehended two suspects - Mussavir Hussain Shazib and Abdul Matheen Taha - in connection with Bengaluru's Rameswaram Cafe blast case on Friday. The two were nabbed near West Bengal's Kolkata. Mussavir Hussain Shazib has been identified as the alleged "mastermind" behind the low-intensity blast that occurred at a prominent eatery in Bengaluru on March 1. Shazib is accused of placing the improvised explosive device (IED) at the cafe. Additionally, Abdul Matheen Taha is implicated as a co-conspirator in the incident. Both Taha and Shazib hail from Thirthahalli in Shivamogga district, according to statements from the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
