The Uphaar tragedy was a devastating fire incident that took place on June 13, 1997, at the Uphaar Cinema in Green Park, Delhi, India. The fire claimed the lives of 59 people and injured over a hundred others. The fire started in the transformer located in the parking lot of the cinema, which resulted in a short circuit and caused the main fire.
