Independence Day 2023: PM Modi to equal Manmohan Singh’s record of hoisting national flag for 10 times
Sunday, 13 August 2023 Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on hi way to creating yet another record. On Tuesday, when he hoists the national flag on India's 77th Independence Day, he will equal his immediate predecessor Manmohan Singh's record of doing the honours for 10 consecutive times. He will then remain behind only first PM Jawaharlal Nehru and his daughter Indira Gandhi who hoisted the tricolour for 17 and 16 times respectively. PM Modi is running his tenth year as prime minister before Lok Sabha election takes place in 2024.
