Tejashwi Yadav summoned by Gujarat court in defamation case over 'only Gujaratis can be thugs' remark
Monday, 28 August 2023 A metropolitan court in Ahmedabad issued a summon to Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav in a criminal defamation case filed against, him over his reported remarks that "only Gujaratis can be thugs."
During an election rally in Himachal Pradesh, Kangana Ranaut, now a BJP candidate, inadvertently mixed up Tejashwi Yadav with BJP MP Tejasvi Surya while criticising the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader for "eating fish". However, it was Yadav who had previously faced criticism for a video showing him consuming fish during Navratri. The rally, held in Mandi, highlighted Ranaut's political foray in the Lok Sabha seat. In her address, she not only attacked Yadav but also accused Surya of "hooliganism" and referenced his alleged fish-eating habits.
