Nagpur university adds BJP, drops CPI & DMK from MA history syllabus, triggers row

A row has erupted over Nagpur University’s move to introduce ‘Bharatiya Janata Party’ (BJP) topic in its MA history syllabus. BJP replaces the Communist Party of India (CPI). A chapter on the Republican Party has been retained. The old syllabus which has a topic on Jan Sangh, from which BJP was formed, stays.
