Accused of getting granddaughter pregnant; 60-year-old let off after 5 yrs in jail

A Mumbai Pocso court has acquitted a 60-year-old man jailed for 5 years on charges of repeatedly raping his 17-year-old granddaughter and impregnating her after finding that his DNA did not match that of the baby she delivered. With the test also clearing another man she had named as accused, the court said it was clear the girl was involved with a third person whom she was trying to protect. The judge said her oral evidence did not appear to be trustworthy.
