On UNSC membership, Turkiye President Erdogan says world bigger than 5 countries
Sunday, 10 September 2023 Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has expressed his support for India's bid for a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). Despite tensions between the two countries over the Kashmir issue, Erdogan stated that the world should not be limited to the five permanent members of the UNSC.
Israel retaliates against Turkey's trade halt by limiting Turkish trade with the Palestinian Authority and seeking sanctions. The move, spurred by Turkey's bid to pressure Israel on Gaza, draws strong condemnation. Erdogan defends Turkey's actions, while Israel vows robust responses, straining relations further amid the ongoing conflict.
