NIA attaches Uttar Pradesh house of Al-Qaeda's active member for terror acts
Wednesday, 13 September 2023 The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached a house in Uttar Pradesh as ‘proceeds of terrorism’ after discovering that it was being used by an active member of the banned terrorist organisation Al-Qaeda and Ansar Gazwat-ul-Hind to make preparations for carrying out terror attacks, the agency said on Wednesday. The property is registered in the name of Minhaj’s father Siraj Ahmad and the latter’s mother and brother.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) apprehended two suspects - Mussavir Hussain Shazib and Abdul Matheen Taha - in connection with Bengaluru's Rameswaram Cafe blast case on Friday. The two were nabbed near West Bengal's Kolkata. Mussavir Hussain Shazib has been identified as the alleged "mastermind" behind the low-intensity blast that occurred at a prominent eatery in Bengaluru on March 1. Shazib is accused of placing the improvised explosive device (IED) at the cafe. Additionally, Abdul Matheen Taha is implicated as a co-conspirator in the incident. Both Taha and Shazib hail from Thirthahalli in Shivamogga district, according to statements from the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
