Muzaffarnagar slapping: Incident in school should shake UP govt conscience, says Supreme Court
The Supreme Court criticized the Uttar Pradesh police for not invoking relevant provisions of law in the Muzaffarnagar incident, where a schoolboy was allegedly slapped by his classmates on the instruction of a teacher because of his religion. The court directed the UP government to appoint a senior IPS officer to investigate the case and submit a status report.
