I-T raids DMK MP Jagathrakshakan

IndiaTimes Thursday, 5 October 2023
The income tax department in India has conducted searches at multiple locations linked to S Jagathrakshakan, a former Union minister and prominent MP from the DMK party. In response, Chief Minister M K Stalin has condemned the searches, calling them a deliberate persecution of opposition leaders and an assault on democracy. Stalin also criticized the BJP for using central agencies for political ends and accused them of misusing independent investigating agencies. He urged the BJP to focus on addressing real issues instead of engaging in a "witch-hunt" against opposition parties.
