Rajasthan University admits its first transgender student

The University of Rajasthan has approved the admission of a trans woman, Noor Shekhawat, to the BA course at University Maharani College as a special case. This marks the first time that the university has admitted a transgender student. The vice-chancellor stated that the university will now work on creating a policy for the admission of transgender students in the future. Shekhawat's admission process has been finalized and she will be submitting her course fee soon. In July, she became the first transgender person in Rajasthan to receive a birth certificate from the municipal corporation.
