In MP, Cong MLA joins BJP two years after switching to saffron camp

Congress MLA Sachin Birla, who had previously joined the BJP but retained his Congress membership, has now officially joined the BJP. Birla, the MLA from Barwaha constituency, made the switch in October 2021, campaigned for the BJP, and participated in their programs while still being a Congress member. The Congress had twice appealed to cancel his membership, but he remained a Congress MLA until April 2022. Birla's move comes ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, and the BJP is yet to announce its candidate for his seat.
