Saturday, 14 October 2023 According to the latest periodic labour force survey, the unemployment rate in Uttar Pradesh (UP) has decreased from 6.4% in 2017-18 to 2.6% in 2022-23. The survey also shows a decrease in India's overall unemployment rate from 6.1% to 3.4% during the same period. The state government claims to have provided over six lakh government jobs in the past six-and-a-half years. The government has been implementing the Mission Rozgar initiative, which has reportedly led to increased employment in both the public and private sectors. Various departments have distributed employment letters to selected individuals, including the police department, health workers, and other government organizations.
