Stubble burning again picks pace in Punjab, 154 cases in a day

Crop residue burning in Punjab has increased again, with 154 cases reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total count to 1,230. This exceeds the number of burning cases reported in the previous two years. Amritsar district alone accounted for over 50% of the cases. The burning cases were reported in 14 of the 23 districts of Punjab. Efforts need to be made to address this issue and prevent further damage to the environment.
