To meet Dasara season rush, BMTC operating buses outside Bengaluru

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has requested the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) to operate 500 buses outside Bengaluru to accommodate the increased demand during the Dasara season. More than 46,000 people traveled on buses on Friday, with the number increasing to 56,000 on Saturday. Some passengers have faced difficulties booking tickets online due to high demand. Private operators have been charging high fares during the festive season. Bengaluru accounts for more than 45% of outbound traffic, followed by Mangaluru, Belagavi, Vijayapura, and Hubballi.
