Working group to help women exit life of commercial sexual exploitation

Prayas, a project by the Centre for Criminology and Justice and the department of Women and Child Development in Maharashtra, recently held a state-level consultation to address the issue of women trapped in commercial sexual exploitation. The aim was to assess existing services and propose strategies for long-term support. One proposal is to create a working group, chaired by the deputy commissioner of the WCD. Other proposals include vocational training and the issuance of certificates to provide essential support for women in shelter homes.
