Air quality dips, harder to breathe in Haryana
Monday, 23 October 2023
Half of the districts in Haryana, India are experiencing problematic air quality levels, with Faridabad being the most affected. The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Faridabad is recorded at 322, categorized as "very poor" by the Central Pollution Control Board. Seven districts have poor air quality, while three have moderate air quality. The Commission for Air Quality Management has implemented a ban on diesel gensets and issued special directions to use sprinkler systems and close stone crushers. Unclean air is attributed to stubble burning, poorly maintained roads, and excessive traffic.
