Lesser known fact: Mumbai has two reservoirs on hill

IndiaTimes Monday, 23 October 2023
The Hanging Gardens of Malabar Hill in Mumbai are famous for their water reservoir that lies beneath. The Joseph Baptista Gardens in Mazgaon also have a reservoir underneath. Both reservoirs are part of a complex network of underground pipes that provide water to the city. These reservoirs were built in the 1800s due to a shortage of drinking water. The Mazgaon garden offers a beautiful view of the eastern waterfront and is located in a diverse and historically rich area of Mumbai.
