Supreme Court to hear AAP leader Raghav Chadha's plea challenging suspension from Rajya Sabha
The Supreme Court is set to hear a petition filed by AAP leader Raghav Chadha challenging his indefinite suspension from the Rajya Sabha. Chadha's lawyers argue that the suspension cannot extend beyond the particular session during which the decision was made. The court will also consider whether the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha has the power to suspend a member pending an inquiry. Chadha was suspended for including the names of MPs without their consent in a proposed select committee.
