Andhra tragedy: Neither train had Kavach system in place

The East Coast Railway is conducting a comprehensive inquiry to determine the cause of the collision between two trains in Vizianagaram district. The accident resulted in 13 fatalities and over 50 injuries. It has been revealed that neither train had the railways' safety system, Kavach. The investigation will look into factors such as the positioning of signals and the odometer data of one of the trains. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined.
