In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury expressed apprehension that remote access to his mobile phone maybe used for "planting" information on his device and then using it to "incriminate" him. He expressed concerns about "state-sponsored" attacks on his iPhone and the potential for remote access to his device. Yechury, along with several other opposition leaders, claimed to have received alerts from Apple about such attacks. However, Apple stated that they do not attribute threat notifications to specific state-sponsored attackers.
