NMC's unique ID initiative: Doctors to have it by 2024

The National Medical Commission (NMC) in India has announced that all doctors in the country will be assigned a unique identification number (UID) by 2024. The NMC plans to launch a pilot project to generate UIDs within the next two months, with the aim of completing the process within six months. This initiative is part of the NMC's efforts to create a national medical register, which will include information on doctors' qualifications and specializations.
