2 dalits beaten up, urinated on in Tamil Nadu

Six individuals from the Maravar community were arrested by the Tirunelveli city police for robbing, assaulting, and humiliating two scheduled caste men on October 30. The victims were forced to strip naked, insulted by their caste name, and urinated on. The accused have been booked under sections of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The victims are currently undergoing treatment at the Tirunelveli government medical college hospital. The accused have been remanded in judicial custody.
