IndiaTimes Friday, 3 November 2023
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has encouraged companies to tap into India's food diversity and meet the increasing demand for packaged food due to rapid urbanisation. He highlighted the growth of the food processing sector, which attracted Rs 50,000 crore in foreign direct investment over the last nine years and saw a 150% increase in processed food exports. Modi also stressed the need to reduce post-harvest losses and food wastage to enhance food security.
