Indian Coast Guard ship Samar decommissioned

The Indian Coast Guard ship Samar was decommissioned in a traditional armed forces ceremony in Kochi. Commissioned in 1996, the ship was based in Mumbai before being relocated to Kochi in 2009. Built by Goa Shipyard Ltd, Samar was the first indigenously constructed vessel of the Indian Coast Guard with a gross displacement of over 1,800 gross tonnage. The decommissioning ceremony included a parade and the lowering of the Coast Guard Ensign and the "Paying off Pennant.
