Air pollution: Delhi to explore possibility of artificial rain, says Gopal Rai

IndiaTimes Thursday, 9 November 2023
Delhi will explore the possibility of inducing artificial rain on November 20-21 to curb air pollution. The environment minister held a meeting with experts from IIT-Kanpur, who have previously experimented with cloud seeding, to submit a proposal. The Indian Meteorological Department predicts clouds with 40% moisture over Delhi during that time, which is ideal for inducing artificial rain. The proposal will be presented to the Supreme Court for approval. Cloud seeding is a technique that enhances a cloud's ability to produce rain.
