MP villagers postpone their Diwali by a week as it falls on polling day
A village in Madhya Pradesh, India, has postponed its Diwali celebrations by seven days due to the coinciding of the festival with the state's voting day. The tribal community in Sajanpur follows a traditional method of determining the date of Diwali celebrations, and the village elders had originally scheduled it for November 17. However, to avoid any interference with the voting process, the celebrations have been rescheduled for November 24. The village's residents want to ensure that people can vote without any distractions and make informed decisions.
