Jheeram Ghati massacre: SC dismisses NIA's plea against Chhattisgarh Police probe into larger conspiracy angle
The Supreme Court has dismissed a plea by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) against the Chhattisgarh Police probe into the 2013 Jheeram Ghati Naxal attack. The attack killed 29 people, including leaders of the state Congress unit. The NIA argued that the larger conspiracy angle should be investigated by them since they are already handling the main FIR. However, the court refused to interfere, stating that the Chhattisgarh Police can continue with their investigation.
