Outgoing Allahabad HC Chief Justice lashes out at ’18 transfer

Outgoing Chief Justice Pritinker Diwaker of the Allahabad high court expressed his hurt at his transfer from the Chhattisgarh HC in 2018, alleging that it was ill-intentioned and designed to harass him. He thanked the current Chief Justice for rectifying the injustice. Another judge from Calcutta HC compared the collegium's decision to shift judges with the transfer of judges during the Emergency, suggesting a shift of power from the executive to the judiciary. Justice Diwaker spoke about his experience and challenges in balancing workload and facing criticism.
