Odisha: 8 armed dacoits hold techie's family hostage, loot valuables worth Rs 6 lakh

In the latest incident of house break-ins in Bhubaneswar, armed dacoits looted cash and jewellery worth over Rs 6 lakh from a house in Nandankanan area. This brazen dacoity adds to the series of around 40 burglaries reported in the capital in the last two months. The victims of this particular incident include a former director general of police. Eight masked men armed with sharp-edged weapons broke into the house and threatened the family before looting their valuables.
