Live streaming has taken SC to hearts, homes of citizens: CJI

IndiaTimes Monday, 27 November 2023
Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Chief Justice DY Chandrachud Monday said efforts should be made to make justice accessible to all regardless of background and circumstances, and to make it a fundamental right in all Global South countries. The CJI batted to put technology at service of it saying live streaming of court proceedings has taken SC to the hearts and homes of common citizens. They were inaugurating the first regional conference on Access to Legal Aid, organised by National Legal Services Authority with the UNDP and Unicef and which is being attended by representatives of 69 countries.

Lawyers’ letter to CJI: PM Modi reacts, calls ‘bullying’ typical of Congress culture | Oneindia

After approximately 600 lawyers sent a letter to the Chief Justice of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a swipe at the Congress party on Thursday. "Using intimidation tactics is typical of Congress culture. Five decades ago, they advocated for a 'committed judiciary' – they shamelessly demand commitment from others for their own selfish interests but refuse to commit to the nation," the PM stated in a post on X. "It's no surprise that 1.4 billion Indians are turning away from them," he concluded. #DYChandrachud #HarishSalve #Pinkyanand #VestedGroup #SupremeCourtofIndia #Letter #SupremeCourt #IndianLaw #LokSabhaElections #Oneindia #Oneindianews ~HT.99~PR.152~ED.102~
