ASI seeks 3 weeks more to finish Gyanvapi survey

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 28 November 2023
The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), which has already been granted five extensions by the district judge to complete its report on the survey of the Gyanvapi complex, on Tuesday sought a sixth one of three weeks to finish the job. The ASI conducted its survey between July 24 (just for four hours) and November 2 as per the orders of various courts to ascertain whether the Gyanvapi mosque was standing atop a pre-existing temple. On November 17, the agency sought fifth extension of 15 days, but the district judge granted just 10 days and the deadline ended on Tuesday.
