NMC changes logo, adds image of ayurveda god
Thursday, 30 November 2023
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has modified its logo by dropping the national emblem and including the photo of Dhanvantri, an avatar of Lord Vishnu known as the god of Ayurveda. The NMC clarified that the Dhanvantri logo was already in use but was not visible in printouts. The NMC logo now features a colour photo in the centre. The change in logo has been criticized by the Indian Medical Association's Kerala chapter, stating that it gives a wrong message and harms the scientific and secular nature of the commission.
